Tolkien Reading Day is held on the 25th of March each year. It has been organised by the Tolkien Society since 2003 to encourage fans to celebrate and promote the life and works of J.R.R. Tolkien by reading favourite passages.
I have designed a card to be sold during Tolkien Reading Day events. The design represents the dragon Smaug featured in The Hobbit and is created using paper cut techniques out of metallic gold paper to symbolise his love for gold. The outside design of the card features the elvish lettering found in The Lord of the Rings.
